Starting in Tervuren — home to the Africa Museum and its elegant park — the route winds south through Jezus-Eik and into the Forêt de Soignes buffer zone before breaking out into open agricultural land toward the Brabantine plateau.
Past Caraute and Clabecq, the route crosses into Hainaut province, where the landscape opens up into broad cereal fields and quiet village lanes. The middle section threads through a string of small communes — Gondregnies, Mevergnies-lez-Lens, Chièvres, Lens — that feel a world away from the capital, with gravel tracks connecting farms and church spires punctuating the horizon. After passing through Cognebeau and descending toward Le Roeulx and Manage, the route touches the old industrial heartland of the Sambre-et-Meuse corridor before quickly retreating back into the countryside via Obaix.
The return leg climbs back into Brabant Wallon through Frasnes-lez-Gosselies and the ruins of Villers-la-Ville abbey — a spectacular mid-ride stop — before a final undulating run through La Roche, Ceroux, Rixensart, Rosières, and Tombeek. The closing kilometres through Huldenberg and Duisburg ease the legs gently back to Tervuren, completing a loop that balances forest, open farmland, medieval heritage, and just enough climbing to make the finish feel earned.
Expect a mix of compacted farm roads, forest doubletrack, and occasional rougher sections in the Hainaut interior.
